FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DO YOU DO AT WAVE BOOTCAMP?
WAVE Bootcamps were first created by Better Futures in 2019, to provide one-on-one, customized assisted coaching sessions and live webinars for new and experienced family child care business owners. Live webinars are designed to provide an overview of relevant topics while one-on-one coaching sessions provide the "how to" on setting up and using your online accounting system to manage your business, resulting in a more effective learning experience.
WHEN SHOULD I JOIN WAVE BOOTCAMP?
This varies, but it is really up to you. Your child care business is unique and doesn't look exactly like someone else's child care business. Some owners join after being in business for less than a year while others have joined after 30 years in the business. That's why selecting WAVE Bootcamp is only the beginning of a collaborative, personalized experience where we'll work together to create an accounting system designed just for you and your business. Soon, your child care business will be ready for take-off.
DO I NEED ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE?
No. The purpose of this interactive course is to support early childhood business leaders that have little to no experience in accounting. We will teach you to implement the WAVE Accounting system to strengthen your business and avoid wasting time and money.
HOW OFTEN IS WAVE BOOTCAMP?
Just like any activity, consistency is key. We offer WAVE Bootcamp webinars once per month for up to 2 hrs. Your Coach will talk to you about the best times available for your one-on-one coaching needs.
HOW LONG IS WAVE BOOTCAMP?
Typically the course is 3 months long. Once you enroll, you will receive email updates about your next steps. One-on-one coaching will be available to you for the entire duration of the program. Live webinars are delivered via our CRAFT online platform hosted by Zoom.
DO I HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
We recommend appointments to guarantee a spot and a time of your choice for one-on-one sessions. You can speak with your Coach to identify the best times available for your one-on-one coaching.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ATTEND WAVE BOOTCAMP?
You must have an active CRAFT membership (not a Trial membership) to participate in the WAVE Bootcamp. Memberships can be purchased for as little as $79. Non-CRAFT members must join CRAFT and purchase a membership before allowed access to the next Cohort. Simply sign up here and you will automatically be eligible for this exciting course.
WILL I BE ABLE TO INTERACT IN THE WEBINAR COURSE?
Yes! We don't believe in boring webinars. We'll share product tips, best practices, and some use cases during the entire WAVE Bootcamp. The course wil be fun, practical and interactive every class!
WILL I BE ABLE TO EARN A COURSE CERTIFICATE?
All classes must be attended to earn a Certificate of Completion. However, not every state will honor our Certificate for Clock hours. However, If you miss a class, you will not earn a Certificate.
WHEN WILL I ACCESS TO THE RECORDINGS?
All classes will be available for replay within 24 hours after it is recorded.
DO I NEED TO FIRE MY ACCOUNTANT OR CPA?
No! Our hope is NOT that you will try to become an accounting and tax expert through WAVE Bootcamp. Accountants and CPAs have received extensive training and are qualified to play a very important role in your child care business to make it successful. WAVE Bootcamp, on the other hand, aims to equip you with the knowledge of basic accounting practices and business mindset while supporting your development as child care business leader. Your financial knowledge will increase and your business will run more smoothly and save you precious time.
