Impact in the District of Columbia

Better Futures provides support to a multitude of Early Childhood Education businesses in Washington, DC. Recently we were retained to provide long-term guidance on a variety of issues related to strategic planning. As a nonprofit organization, Southeast Children's Fund, an early childhood education program with over 50 years of history, which operates a Professional Development Institute in the District, brought in Better Futures to review the organizational structure and systems within the organization, and complete work to strengthen the financial management system- from top to bottom, providing guidance and expertise with matters related to revitalizing the Board, and in direct support with the attorney, ensure the organization was in good standing as a nonprofit organization. Working with SCF, Better Futures was able to lead the application process to win a multi-year grant award that has changed the direction of SCF for the next 10 years.
